Sketching Workshop August 4th to 7th: 9 AM to Noon PST

Explore, observe and connect with nature through sketching in pencil, pen and watercolor

Workshop Summary

This fun and mindful drawing course helps students slow down, observe, and sketch the world around them with creativity and confidence. Through brief, focused sessions, students will explore pencil mark-making, shape, texture, and value using quick 10–15 minute exercises. They'll learn that drawing is about expression—not perfection—and discover how each sketch can capture not just how something looks, but how it feels.  The final two days introduce watercolor, where students will apply their skills to drawing and painting leaves and flowers. By the end of the course, students will have gained lifelong tools for seeing, creating, and connecting more deeply with their surroundings.

I really enjoyed sketching. I now observe things better everywhere I go.  I loved painting with watercolors too. They were bright and fun.  Loved Miss Vani.  She was fun.
